ABOUT SOUTH AFRICA
South Africa is Africa’s youngest democracy, that prides itself of 31 years of freedom and democracy that were ushered-in in 1994 following the defeat of a repressive apartheid system.
Since its attainment of freedom and democracy, South Africa stands out as a developing country that across the spectrum punches above its weight including its role in improving global governance, pursuit of peace and democracy and in exporting its unique experience of a negotiated transition to democracy.
South Africa continues to grow as a go-to destination globally in respect of travellers, investors, and tourists. Her captivating offerings include a unique blend of natural beauty that covers breathtaking landscapes, a multi-climate coastline, vibrant cities and communities that are a melting pot of rich cultures, and a dynamic business environment.
Each of the nine provinces that constitute South Africa, has its special offerings, including Eastern Cape, Free State, Gauteng, North West, Northern Cape, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, KwaZulu-Natal and Western Cape.
As hosts to the 11th P20 Summit and its subsidiary gatherings, the Western Cape and particularly Cape Town at its heart, is a dynamic region where cultures, flavours, and experiences converge. Similarly, the Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet at Cape Point, as one of the must visit attractions alongside winelands, flora and fauna.
